White paper: A performance comparison of AMD OpteronT processors with Microsoft® Hyper-V Server 2008 R2.
How far will my servers scale in a virtual environment? To demonstrate the relative scaling capabilities of Dell PowerEdge Servers with AMD OpteronT processors running Microsoft® Hyper-V Server 2008 R2, Dell conducted a proof of concept to compare several server configurations. The tests performed in the proof of concept showed that as more processor cores and memory were available to the physical server, Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 could continue to scale and support additional VMs.

Case study: Creating a persistent pan-European high performance computing (HPC) service and infrastructure to support Europe's science and research.
The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) is a consortium of over 20 European countries establishing a pan-European, high-end computing infrastructure offering globally competitive resources in support of European science and research. The PRACE prototype proposal evaluation committee recommended Supermicro's powerful yet efficient AMD platform-based prototype. Learn how this prototype was put forward by the High-Performance Computing Center (PDC) at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) on behalf of the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC) to take advantage of AMD's multi-core processing capabilities to deliver performance for the CPU-intense simulations and calculations that top-level scientific applications require.
